The Vols fold the Aces 11-6 in Game 1 of the Super Regional.

The Tennessee Volunteers (54-11 ) the number one overall seed in the NCAA Tournament we’re looking to continue their road to Omaha vs four seed Evansville.

The Vols got the Rokus crowd going when Blake Burke sent one over the fence at Lindsey Nelson to make it 1-0 Vols.

Evansville took the lead in the top of the second inning with a two-run home run for the Purple Aces to take a 2-1 lead.

The Vols would score three runs in the bottom of the third to take a 4-2 lead after a Billy Amick home run.

Tennessee would score another run in the fourth inning to make it 5-2 Vols.

But the Purple Aces wouldn’t go away scoring three runs in the top of the fifth due to Tennessee errors tying the game at five.

The Vols would answer back in the bottom half of the inning scoring three runs making it 8-5 Vols.

AJ Causey , Kirby Connell pitched gems for the Vols holding the purple aces at bay.

The Vols would add to their lead in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a Hunter Ensley three-run blast that made it 11-5 Vols.

The Aces got one run in the ninth but Aaron Combs came in & slammed the door on the purple aces striking out the side with bases loaded to give the Vols a game one win in the Super Regional.

Game 2 is Saturday at 11am
